Jones of the the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, when speaking before the Harvard Law School Federalist Society said,<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>&#8220;The American legal system has been corrupted beyond recognition&#8221;. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 30pt;\"><strong>\u201cHaving lost sight of the moral and religious foundations of the rule of law, we are vulnerable to the [loss] of our freedom, our equality before the law, and our self-respect.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 30pt;\"><strong><em>\u201c[Some lawyers] seem uninhibited about \u2026 [lying] to the court or their opponents or \u2026 falsifying evidence.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 30pt;\"><strong><em>\u201cThe legal system has \u2026 been wounded by lawyers who themselves no longer respect the law.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 30pt;\"><strong><em>\u201cThe legal aristocracy have \u2026 become businessmen.
